OUR CLUB
OUR HISTORY
In 1972, founding members Tim Gassman, Daryl Jensen and Jack Backer started building what is now known as the Dakota Benchrest range. When the work was completed, they began hosting registered I.B.S. (International Benchrest Shooters) tournaments in 1975. The I.B.S. tournaments were held from 1975 to 1985. From 1985 to 2000, the Hunter Bench Rest class began under the umbrella of the T.C.L. (Trans Continental League). C.B.A. (Cast Bullet Association) tournaments have been held at the range from 2008 to the present. We also offer non-registered rifle competition under the Dakota Shooting League from 2019 to the present. As of 2025, our Bench Rest history is 50 years old. Among our members are National Champions in both the I.B.S. and N.B.R.S.A. (National Bench Rest Shooters Association). It all started with three individuals with a passion for precision and accuracy. We thank them for their contribution and continue their passion.
